Dress Shopping FAQs

Why shop at Eva’s?

We have an experienced team of bridal stylists who know the bridal business and are proud of our established and reputable brand working with thousands of brides over the years.  We’ve grown to accommodate even more brides in the Greater Milwaukee Area with the addition of our second (boutique) location, Evermore Bridal.  Our passion and priority is providing each bride with the ultimate bridal experience from the moment you visit us until you say, ‘I do’.  Your perfect wedding day begins at Eva’s Bridal Center!

Do I need an appointment to visit?  And, can I take pictures?

We do require appointments on weekends to fulfill your shopping expectations and ensure the ultimate experience for you and your group, but we are open 7 days a week to accommodate your schedule. Appointments do fill up fast, so call a few weeks in advance to schedule a time to visit us! Also, feel free to take pictures, as we want you to feel comfortable in your dress and know that it’s the one. We have such confidence in our designers collections and hand-picked selections, that we encourage this. We’d be happy to take a picture with you and your group once you’ve said ‘Yes to the Dress,’ as well!

When should I begin shopping for wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses?

We recommend shopping for both wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses approximately 8 to 12 months before your wedding date, ideally. This will allow enough time for orders to be placed, received and alterations performed (if needed) in enough time for the big day.  Dresses can be ordered inside of that timeframe, but may require rush fees from the designers to ensure the dresses are made and received on time, as dresses can take approximately 4-6 months to be produced and received.  Wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses can become discontinued or costs of dresses can increase, so we recommend ordering as soon as you have found the perfect dress for you or your bridal party.

What is the average price of a wedding dress? And, what size samples do you have to try on in store?

We carry designer gowns in sizes 8 to 30 starting at $500 through $2,900, with the majority falling in the middle of that range and some below that range for select off-the-rack dresses.  We carry an extensive list of designer collections offering unique designs.  We do have in-store events and promotions monthly, so check our Events page for the latest updates. Also, sample gowns off the rack can be available for purchase.

Do you accept returns?

All sales are final. There are no returns, exchanges or refunds, as wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses are truly made to order based on the bride or bridesmaid order request in the select style, color and size.  All sample or stock merchandise is sold as is.

What if members of the bridal party are from out of town? Can you ship dresses?

It is very common that either the bride and/ or members of her bridal party are out of town (or country) and will not be easily accessible for appointments or fittings.  We are certainly able to accommodate you and your bridal party, regardless of your location and we do ship dresses, if needed, as well.

Do you offer alterations and when should they be started? And, what is required for a first alterations fitting?

To make it easy and convenient for our customers, we offer alterations with experienced seamstresses within our building.   All brides can schedule free consultations with one of our seamstresses to get a price quote. Wedding dress alterations should be started approximately 2 months before the wedding date and bridesmaid, special occasion, mother and prom dresses should be started approximately 4 to 6 weeks before the event date. For all alteration appointments, you will need to bring the shoes you will be wearing for the occasion and the proper undergarments.
