Dress Shopping FAQs

Why shop at Eva’s?

We have an experienced team of bridal stylists who know the bridal business and are proud of our established and reputable brand working with thousands of brides over the years. We’ve grown to accommodate even more brides in the Greater Milwaukee Area with the addition of our second (boutique) location, Evermore Bridal. Our passion and priority is providing each bride with the ultimate bridal experience from the moment you visit us until you say, ‘I do’. Your perfect wedding day begins at Eva’s Bridal Center!

Do I need an appointment to visit? And, can I take pictures?

All store visits require an appointment. We require appointments so our staff is best prepared to fulfill your shopping expectations and ensure the ultimate experience for you and your group. Please note that as a small local business, if there are no scheduled appointments on the calendar, we may elect to keep the store closed. Appointments do fill up quickly, so schedule yours a few weeks in advance. Also, feel free to take pictures. We want you to feel comfortable in your dress and know that it’s the one. We have such confidence in our designers that we encourage this. We’d be happy to take a picture with you and your group once you’ve said, ‘Yes to the Dress,’ as well!

When should I begin shopping for wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses?

We highly recommend starting wedding dress shopping only once you are realistically prepared to say YES to the dress. We understand the itch to “just start shopping to get an idea of styles.” But it is important into account very real – and sometimes complicated – situation like gown discontinuations, designer-imposed price increases, limited collections, special savings, etc. Thus, it is best to begin looking for your gown when you’re ready to find the one!

The most ideal timeframe for finalizing wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses approximately eight to 12 months before your wedding date. This will allow enough time for orders to be placed, received and alterations performed (if needed.) Dresses ordered outside of that time frame may require rush fees from the designers to ensure timely delivery.

Do you offer in-house alterations?

YES! We are excited and grateful we are one of very few local bridal stores within a wide territory with an in-house seamstress. The in-house seamstress at Eva’s is named Shoua. Shoua, who is an independent contractor, has more than a decade of bridal sewing experience and has a proven record of making brides’ visions for their wedding-day look come true. Brides and bridesmaids who purchase their dresses through Eva’s, or our sister store Evermore Bridal, get priority scheduling. However, Shoua has also opened up her schedule to accept clients who purchased dresses elsewhere.

What is the average price of a wedding dress? And, what size samples do you have to try on in store?

We carry designer gowns in sizes 10 to 30W ranging from $980 to $2,999, with the majority falling in the middle of that range and some below that range for select off-the-rack dresses. We carry an extensive list of designer collections offering unique designs. We do have in-store events and promotions monthly, so check our Events page for the latest updates. Also, sample gowns off the rack can be available for purchase.

Do you accept returns?

All sales are final. There are no returns, exchanges or refunds, as wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses are truly made to order based on the bride or bridesmaid order request in the select style, color and size. All sample or stock merchandise is sold as is.

What if members of the bridal party are from out of town? Can you ship dresses?

It is very common that either the bride and/ or members of her bridal party are out of town (or country) and will not be easily accessible for appointments or fittings.  We are certainly able to accommodate you and your bridal party, regardless of your location and we do ship dresses, if needed, as well.
